British comic genius Peter Sellers (‘Dr. Strangelove’, ‘Being There’) is a clumsy actor who creates a disaster on a film set. Instead of getting fired he is accidentally invited to an exclusive Hollywood party – where he creates more disasters. Director Blake Edwards (‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s', The Pink Panther’) had only sixty-three pages of script when shooting began in the summer of 1967. On set, Sellers improvised many of the films brilliant comic situations that have made ‘The Party’ a cult classic. Owing much to the French master Jacques Tati, ‘The Party’ was a favorite of Elvis Presley who would screen the film over and over. ~ written by Thomas Logoreci
