Several stories accompanied by folk songs retrace the history and customs of Mexico into a vast cinematographic symphony, like a country with many traditions and checkered past….
The only document filmed by Eisenstein during his stay in North America, Que viva México!, whose negative was confiscated by the producer, did not benefit from a proper release before 1958. The version screened today is the closer to the one wanted by Eisenstein.
